About GMN
GMN was incorporated in 1985 by Glenn Norton. Glenn, well known for
his salesmanship, quality products and good work ethics built GMN
into a successful business.
His now wife Penny Norton started Vegie Prepi in July 1994. Penny
was working in the industry as a catering and purchasing manager at
a leading hospital, when she noticed a huge gap in the industry for
processed fruit and vegetables.
Penny who is a chef, came to the conclusion while trying to source
good quality processed fruit and vegetables that the quality and service
left a lot to be desired, Penny saw an opportunity for quality processed
fruit and vegetables had arisen and hence the birth of Vegie Prepi
– The ULTIMATE in Fresh and Processed Fruit and Vegetables.
The difference between Vegie Prepi and other processing plants is
the majority of all fruit and vegetables are hand cut by chef for
chefs.
Six years later along came Sue, Penny’s sister and together
they purchased GMN Wholesale, whereby Penny and Sue merged GMN Wholesale
and Vegie Prepi together and became partners.
Penny and Glenn have since married, and now the business runs very
much as a family concern. The company is called Jake’s Trading
Corporation, which is named after Penny’s and Glenn’s
son Jake. The company trades as GMN/Vegie Prepi.
Penny and Sue have been running the company since February 2001 and
the customers range from Government Contracts, to Hospitals, Nursing
homes, Restaurants through to country orders and export.
